Apartment hunting is one of the toughest tasks around. It is not easy for the people to find a place which can suit their preferences and budget accurately. But no other way around they may have to settle themselves for something which is less than satisfactory until and unless they do not find the best place. The tenants should ask some of the questions before settling the rental agreement so that the landlord will not turn his back on his said words ever in future and will disappoint you.
• When the place is available for the shelter? If you are not practically ready to move in, then you should try to negotiate with the landlord for not paying the unoccupied time period.
• What is the amount of rent and when it is to be paid?
• How much money will be paid for the security and will it be refundable after the end of the leasing agreement?
• Is there any penalty for late payment of the rent? If it is then how much the amount.
• Are pets allowed in the renting place? If it is not then can you pay some amount as pet deposit?
• What are the terms and conditions if you move out from the renting house before the expiry of the lease agreement?
• Are there any utilities contained in the agreement and what is the amount in different seasons?
• Do you have the freedom to share your unit with room mates and what are the terms on subletting the apartment?
• Can you paint the walls and make some changes?
• Can you run a home based business in your renting apartment?
• Who are your neighbors?
• How far you have to go to get some basic household or professional necessities such as grocery store, bank, restaurant, transportation and many more.
